Cutting Edge Circus Workshops specialises in providing tailored circus skills workshops for schools and youth groups. These skills are an essential addition to your school’s Physical Education program. Circus skills are a wonderful hobby that improve students’ concentration, coordination and confidence while encouraging an active lifestyle. Please note that the circus skills in question are not lion taming or flying trapeze, instead we are referring to social circus skills that can be explored safely on a day-to-day basis.

Our workshops, suitable for all age ranges, are structured to incorporate aspects of learning that relate to the National Curriculum and aid the development of life-long learning techniques. All our workshop leaders are qualified teachers trained by Circomedia, the leading centre for contemporary circus in Europe, have public liability insurance, and are fully CRB accredited. Their fun, versatile style is designed to teach circus skills in achievable steps.

Please read our Workshops section for more information about the structure of the workshops. Why Circus? Gives an in depth review of what your students have to gain from learning circus skills. The Articles & Studies section has a long list of references to studies, essays and papers detailing how beneficial circus skills are. Our Key Stage section explains how circus skills meet many of the key stage requirements for Physical Education. If you want to learn more about our amazing Tutors then please visit The Tutors. The What Next? section is intended to help you continue doing circus skills after you’ve had one of our workshops. Lastly if you have any queries or need any further information then please do not hesitate to Contact Us.

“It is gratifying that an activity which is so strongly recognised as fun, should also present developmental, intellectual and physical challenges, encourage social behaviour more creative and co-operative than competitive, and which has as its end product, an act of donation – of generosity.” Reg Bolton – ‘Why Circus Works’ PHD Thesis
